Irish actor Michael Patrick, known for "Game of Thrones" and "This Town," died after a battle with motor neuron disease.

A Cambridge-educated thespian, Patrick starred on stage in productions of "Othello" and "The Taming of the Shrew," as well as in several BBC series.

In his final social media post on Feb. 6, the actor revealed that his neurologist estimated he had one year left to live.
